On December 17, 2021, posters like these pictured here were taken down from lamp posts in downtown Great Falls, Montana.
Posters like these that have been showing up around Great Falls have no place in our community. Great Falls has a diverse population, as does our nation. Diversity enriches us all; it replaces no one.
The purpose of these posters is to legitimize race-based prejudice and thereby to intimidate people of color. In this country, state, and community, all people deserve to have their rights and persons protected equally.
When we diminish the safety, the value, or the rights of others, we put our own in jeopardy. History has many examples of this truth.
Communities whose citizens work together thrive and grow; communities divided by hate do not.
