Annual Mansfield Dinner cancelled due to COVID concerns

The Mansfield Dinner has been cancelled , according to an announcement by Cascade County Democrats.

The decision was based on the county’s high transmission rate, low vaccination rate and stress on our health care system.

“It’s the right thing to do in the circumstances that have been created for us. Our communities are in a public health crisis. We must do our part to reduce potential infection risk–for the sake of all of our friends and neighbors, our children, and our overstressed health care system,” explained Don Ryan, the event chairman.

Party leaders continue to build alternative methods to enable citizens to express their concerns to local and state candidates. In a normal year, local and state democratic candidates appear at the Mansfield Dinner to discuss their platforms and hear from local residents about local issues.

This is the second year that conditions in Cascade County have made the Fall Dinner cancellation necessary.
